Goals

This page details our goals for this.

Aim

To update a beloved game to better suit the needs and wants of a target demographic.

Scope

The target audience for the game will be males aged between 22 and 24. Due to the small sample size of those willing to partake in testing and using the final product, we are able to closely work with and respond to the requests and needs of the clients.

The scope of changes to the source game (merely improving on perfection) will encompass updating various inbuilt statistics, perks, assets. Beyond simple edits to the existing functionality, we will look to upgrade the network capabilities of the application to interaction with our third party software. This will allow us to have accompanying tools for the clients to enhance their experiences.

Live List of Build Ideas

  • New Enemies
    • Flame thrower/blowtorch Enemies
      • Rush the player
      • Spawn in groups of at least 3 (if possible)
      • Very low health
      • Faster than normal enemies, likely use the speed modifier of ‘Speeder’
      • Asset Prompt: Firefighter overalls and red helmet. Holds the Flame thrower/blowtorch asset
    • Assassin Enemies
      • Cloaked ability like the Assassin player role
      • Melee only
      • Asset Prompt: Black robes, black hooded ninja. Neon pink highlights. Holding a knife (potentially adjust the battering ram melee enemies currently use)
    • Enemy Hacker Bot
      • Taken from the Hacker role
      • Identical in function, but just targets players
      • Would need to lower damage and health, otherwise would be oppressive
      • Asset Prompt: Alter current Hacker Drone to have Red highlights to identify as enemy
    • Enemy Leader
      • The leader will rally enemy troops (enemy troops in range will never break and run away when low health)
      • The leader will have a green heal circle to heal those enemies nearby
      • When leader is killed, enemy troops have a higher likelihood of breaking and running
      • Asset Prompt: A normal soldier holding a neon chrome flag.
    • Vemon Spider
      • Use fire tick damage to simulate poison damage to player
      • Applies poison damage to the player for same length of time as fire upon successful hit
      • Every successful attack made on a player will reset the timer
      • Asset Prompt: Adapt the base spider enemy to have neon green highlights
    • Mines
      • Buff the damage dealt by mines in general (up to 100% more damage)
    • Lazers
      • Buff the damage dealt by enviromental lazers in general (up to 100% more damage)
    • Named Enemies (Elites)
      • Over double the health of named enemies
  • Special Levels
    • Elite Threat
      • Spawn at least 5 named enemies (Elite Enemies) across the level
    • Haunted Floor
      • A ghost of a riot shield melee enemies stalks the floor!
      • The ghost will be partially transparent (ghost effects not assassin effects)
      • The ghost will not be able to be killed
      • The ghost will have a speed penalty of 40%
      • The ghost will swing at and damage players if they come too close
    • Swarmaggedon
      • Greatly increase the number of enemy spiders spawned
    • Gold Rush!
      • Enemies drop double the amount of credits upon death
    • Low Oxygen
      • Complete a mission in seven minutes
      • If seven minutes is exceeded, the players start to tick damage (tbd damage amount)
  • Role Changes
    • Techie
      • Shield generator max health is set to a % of your max health rather than flat value
      • Shield generator will take longer to recharge to balance this change
      • -20% health -> -15%
      • Gets four perks to choose from
    • Corporate Soldier
      • -10% speed -> -20% speed
      • +15% damage -> +20% damage
    • Assassin
      • +15% crit damage -> +10% crit damage
      • +10% speed -> 12.5% speed
    • Hacker
      • +5% crit chance
      • +1 total perk slot
    • Cyber Psycho
      • No longer gets 4 perks to choose from
      • +5% speed
  • Drinking Achievements
    • Individual to players
      • Wasted Ammo : Successful Hit % below 40% (not applicable to gattling/blowtorch etc.)
      • Explosive Personality : Die to with friendly explosives
      • One Man Army : Kill 100 enemies over the course of the overseer
      • Grim Weeper : Die
      • Epic Fail : Die within the first minute of a level (drink 2x)
      • Finger Guns : Kill nothing for an entire level
      • Deadman Walking : Take more damage in a single round than your max health
      • Tickle Monster : Make 10 sneak attacks on enemies in a single level
      • Lucky Loot : Get a mythic loot item
    • Group Achievements
      • <Boss_Name> Killer : After beating each boss
      • Squad Wipe : Fail a level and all players die
      • Slowpokes : Take more than 10 minutes on a level
      • <Enemy_Name> Killer : After killing 500 enemies of a single type
  • Stat Trackers (Pending investigation into implementation difficulty)

  • Full Game Modifiers (needing game restart)
    • Random weapon
      • New weapon every four floors
      • Weapon level = floor level + 5
    • Floor Heal (35%)
      • This perk will now be built into the game, regardless of the role chosen, or perks used
      • The original perk will be removed from the pool of perks
  • Perks
    • Heartblood Ammo : Take 75% of your max health as damage, gain a 25% buff to damage
    • Glass Cannon : Reduce your max health by 75%, increase your damage by 60%
    • Bunker Down : While firing, speed is -100%, add a tempory shield (shield health tbd). Effect is lost when not firing
    • Fatal Lottery : 60:40 chance of dying upon taking the perk, but if you survive, pick three more perks (choose one perk from a list of three, three times)
    • Energy Ammo : You can keep firing through the reloading animation, but it will cost you energy
    • Temporal Control : Reduces all enemy speed by 3%. Only one player needs it equiped. Effect stacks if multiple players have it
    • Sharpshooter : +20% accuracy, -15% rate of fire
    • Heavy Hitter : +40% single shot damage, -20% rate of fire
    • Overclocked : +25% rate of fire, -30% critical hit chance
    • Gunslinger : +25% damage against ranged enemies, -15% damage against melee enemies
    • Sacrificial Speed : +30% movement speed, -30% max health capacity
    • Green Soldier : improve relaod speed by 50% when health is over 90%
    • Communism : “We’re all in this together :)” (Damage taken by any player is divided equally across the number of players)
